JEWS AROUND THE WORLD continues…

CUJF is pleased to invite you to a virtual tour of NYC Lower East Side

We continue our virtual travels this Winter Break to learn about Jews around the world.  This time we will be taking a virtual walk or stroll through more than 150 years of Jewish history on New York’s Lower East Side. Our tour will combine historic and religious sites, politics and people of what was once the largest Jewish community in the world. Stops include historic Orchard Street, the Jewish Daily Forward building, University Settlement House, the Eldridge Street Synagogue, and sites associated with Abraham Cahan, Jacob Riis, and many others.

Our tour guide will be Seth Kamil, president and co-founder of Big Onion Walking Tours which has led locals and visitors alike on innovative and exciting tours through New York’s ethnic neighborhoods and historic districts. Big Onion guides are educators and graduate students who lead the finest, most comprehensive, and thought-provoking “outings”
