Courage to Remember has traveled to more than 50 countries and been seen by more than 20 million visitors. Large, illustrated panels bring the past alive and enable visitors to read about events of the Holocaust, as well as excerpts from first-person accounts of persecution and survival. This exhibit inspires young and old alike to explore history, combat bigotry, and continue to fight for justice.

School tours for community groups, children in grades 5 to 12, and university classes may be arranged outside of public viewing hours, and those interested in viewing the exhibit with a volunteer guide may contact the HEC to see when they are available. Anyone with questions about the exhibit should email [email protected] or call 217-367-9872.

Serve as a Volunteer Docent

Are you interested in serving as a volunteer docent for the international traveling Holocaust exhibit, Courage to Remember? We are hoping to keep our storefront open to the public during our advertised hours, but if a docent slot goes unfilled, we will need to close for that shift.

We need YOUR help to keep the exhibit open! Will you help the Holocaust Education Center share this deeply impactful experience with Champaign-Urbana? By serving as a docent for just 2 hours, you can be a part of the team that reached over 5000 individuals with high quality and relevant Holocaust education last year.
