Vermilion County Holocaust Education Book Trunks

The Holocaust Education Center has been busy this summer working with folks at Regional Office of Education #54 to provide 1200 books to 50 classrooms in 12 school districts! In addition to these resources, the HEC will be providing 1:1 professional development for teachers and will host a vendor table at the Vermilion County Professional Development Day in October.

This program is made possible through the generosity of The Mervis Family Foundation, The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois, and The Lumpkin Family Foundation.

In addition to these exciting projects, the HEC will once again be starting their partnership with UIUC's EDUC 201 class to offer a 20 hour volunteer course on how to teach the Holocaust. Students will hear from experienced Holocaust educators, Holocaust Survivor Dr. Gingold, and folks from the ADL.

Keep reading for more information about where Dr. Gindold is speaking this month and other local events.
